(Houston, Texas) Howard Dean says it isn't enough for the Democratic Party to go after gay voters. The Democratic National Committee chair told an international LGBT conference in Houston on Saturday that the party must enlist gay candidates to run for office.

Dean, the keynote speaker at the International Gay & Lesbian Leadership Conference, an annual meeting of LGBT elected officials, said Democrats had worked hard at getting gays and other minorities to the table but that was no longer enough.

What are your predictions for Tuesday's election?  Will there be a shift in the balance of power in Congress?  A shift of the majority in the NYS Senate?  Will Democrat Jack Davis win over Republican incumbent Tom Reynolds?  Will Alan Hevesi lose because of recent ethics problems that have come to light or will he retain his seat as NYS Comptroller?  Will Jeanine Pirro win over former HUD Secretary Andrew Cuomo to follow Spitzer as New York's next Attorney General?

From WBFO:

JAMESTOWN, NY (2006-10-27) The recent beatings of several patrons at a Jamestown bar have members of that area's gay community frightened. It may have been a simple bar fight. But some say it was a hate crime that targeted homosexuals.

It happened a week ago. Shortly before the 2:00am last call at the Sky Bar in Jamestown, three white males began punching several patrons, knocking one unconscious. They then fled the scene. Police were able to apprehend one of the attackers. Keith Darling of Jamestown is charged with third-degree assault and harassment.

Greg Rabb is a leader of Jamestown's gay community. He joined WBFO's Mark Scott on the phone Thursday to talk more about what happened.
